Véronique Descombe

Trained in Paris under Hélène Traïline and Raymond Franchetti, she danced at the Grand Théâtre de Nancy and later at the Opéra du Nord in Lille under the artistic direction of Christian Taulelle, before joining the Royal Ballet of Wallonia in 1984, led by Cuban choreographer Jorge Lefebre.

She subsequently pursued a freelance career, exploring theatrical environments as well as those linked to the emergence of Belgian contemporary dance, while gradually transitioning to teaching.

In 2016, she earned the Specialist Diploma in Choreological Studies from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, UK.

For 28 years, she taught in the Artistic Humanities Dance program at Lycée Martin V in Louvain-la-Neuve, where she developed a specific pedagogy enriched by her choreological approach to dance movement.

Her classes focus on a deep understanding of movement principles and the application of the inherent qualities of the Space/Time/Energy factors, allowing students to approach classical dance with pleasure, intelligence, and musicality.
