Marie MARTINEZ
Trained in classical dance by professors from the Paris Opera at the Conservatoire National de Région de St Maur, Marie Martinez went on to perform leading roles in the classical repertoire. Simultaneously, she studied contemporary dance, baroque dance and Feuillet notation, character dance, American tap, martial arts, yoga and therapeutic yoga, Feldenkrais and F.M. Alexander techniques, functional analysis of dance movement, piano, singing, dance history, the history of musical forms, dramatic arts, sculpture, and art history.
Drawing on these diverse practices, she has developed a unique approach to teaching dance over the past 30 years. Her pedagogy emphasizes transmitting demanding choreographic techniques while respecting each individual's unique physicality. Her methods focus on fostering awareness of the body’s internal architecture in motion, enhancing agility, precision, repertoire, and technical terminology.
