Malik Djouad
Malik Djouad began his musical journey at the Conservatoire of Roubaix at the age of eight, earning top distinctions in piano, music theory, and chamber music by his early twenties. With a solid foundation in analysis, composition, and musical culture, he refined his craft at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, obtaining a Master’s degree in Piano. A few years later, he further expanded his expertise by earning a second Master’s degree in Composition - Applied and Interactive Music at ARTS², the Royal Conservatory of Mons.
A versatile artist, Malik has excelled as a performer, accompanist, improviser, and educator, constantly broadening his musical horizons by exploring new territories.
For the past two decades, Malik Djouad has brought his musical sensitivity to dance classes, collaborating with prestigious institutions such as the Conservatoire of Roubaix, the Artistic Humanities in Louvain-la-Neuve and Namur, and P.A.R.T.S., the renowned Brussels-based school founded by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. His fruitful collaborations with esteemed pedagogues like Douglas Becker, Libby Farr, Silvia Ubieta, Lise Vachon, Véronique Descombes, and others, underscore his reputation in the field.
As a composer, Malik Djouad gained prominence by winning the 2022 RFI-Instrumental competition’s first prize, showcasing his talent in sound design and illustration. He has also contributed his musical vision to numerous contemporary dance and circus performances.
