Fabian Fiorini
After training in classical and African percussion, Fabian Fiorini began studying piano at the age of fifteen. Since then, he has dedicated his time to composing, improvising, arranging songs, and interpreting the most surprising lieder. Throughout his diverse journey, he has collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Les Tarafs de Haïdouks, Ictus Ensemble, Aka Moon, Octurn, Magic Malik, Gilbert Nouno, Ensemble InterContemporain, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, TG Stan, Le Groupov, Garrett List, Frederic Rzewski, Philippe Pierlot, Pierre Vaiana, Kris Defoort, Fabrice Murgia, and Lorent Wanson, performing in venues as varied as two raindrops falling simultaneously at opposite ends of the earth.
Since 2011, he has taught improvisation and advanced training in contemporary languages at the Royal Conservatory of Liège. In 2015, he began teaching jazz arrangement at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and jazz harmony at the Royal Conservatory of Mons.
In 2016, he composed the imposed piece for the semi-finals of the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition.
His multifaceted career as a jazz interpreter, contemporary performer, composer, improvisation and "reinterpretation" teacher, and artistic director of recordings, allows him to divide his time between performance, composition, teaching, and numerous collaborative projects.
